He is a man who not only made Lithuania widely known, but also managed to breathe Lithuanian spirit into modern furniture designs. The compilers of the book Jonas Prapuolenis. Studija (Jonas Prapuolenis. Studio) looked at J. Prapuolenis' personality through photographs showing the furniture maker's studio-workshop, which has been preserved to this day in Kaunas by his son Bangutis Prapuolenis.\u003cbr\u003eJonas Prapuolenis (1900–1980), one of the most prominent Lithuanian designers, was born into a family of smallholders and inherited his artistic talent from his parents (his father was a carpenter and his mother a weaver). Even as a child, he would weave colorful baskets from willow branches and carve spoons, salt shakers, rakes, and walking sticks from birch or maple wood. After studying at the Kaunas Art School, J. Prapuolenis expanded his knowledge in Paris. The artist created furniture and interiors for a wide variety of functions. Even during his lifetime, his furniture sets were considered modern and innovative. Their design and decoration have a distinct national flavor. J. The short stories describe the love, mathematics, values, and other important things of lichens. These composite creatures are never alone and are masters of friendship. Perhaps this is why, when looking at lichens, people understood what symbiosis is – the ability to live together. Forming alliances with fungi and algae, these creatures possess special powers – for example, they can easily survive in space or dissolve stones.
